Received it on the nicely packaged on the 29th with label and all. Very cloudy due to transit so left it to settle for a few days, then a few days more, then some more. Eventually cracked it open on 3rd August.

Very lively so a little too much sugar in the bottle for the amount being fermented. Poured easily enough into the glass but any head formation died away within a few seconds. Colour was ruby in the glass. Smell was slightly tart maybe strawberry or raspberry. Good part of fizz in ...

Received this in the post via a jiffy bag. The jiffy bag had split at the bottom so was lucky I dont have a sneaky postman who likes beer.

I think that this beer was kegged, but not too sure, Tango to advise, so the concept of decanting and priming with sugar into a bottle is new to me. The beer was pleasantly fizzy, but any head I created with the pour disappeared within seconds. The taste of the beer was quite nice, you could definately taste the overtures of chocolate, there was a ...

I have on offer some Fixby Gold which is nearly 6 weeks conditioned and I think tastes good. Perfect for this time of year. Unfortunately I only have it in 500ml glass bottles. I can post if you'd like but a more local meet might be easier on the pocket? I'm not fussed either way.

I exchanged a length of hosepipe and a bottle of Broadside AG for a bottle of Chris' Old ale and Fixby Gold. It was a strange and stressful evening as we had a power cut that lasted a good while so we were chatting in the dark. Anyway, I digress

I left them in the fridge and drank them after a couple of weeks. Unfortunatly I lost my notes when tidying up so heres the tasting notes I can remember on the Old Ale.

Bear in mind that I was tasting this after drinking AG beer for a while.

About a month back DTB and I swapped some beer, and his offering was the aforementioned Adnam's Broadside AG.

Apologies for no pic, fully intended to, but got distracted and ended up supping it before remembering!

Description: in its clear bottle, the colour was apparent from the outset, and the extra 4 weeks conditioning in a cool dark place (the shed!) hopefully served to do it justice.

The brown amber colour was similar to many bitters (although I have to confess if I've drunk ...

i think its a great idea to exchange brews and get other peoples idea's about them , and to try other peoples beers to see what you think about their's aswell,

but how does one go about it ?

1 x 500ml pet bottle would be the norm ???

i would presume the receiver will just keep pet bottle as he/she would be sending one off themselves, ??

just so i know what the etiquette is,
